Tables

Tables are a relatively novel feature of HTML - WebSpider provides support for the full tables specification of HTML 3.2, and is being developed as the specification for tabling becomes increasing comprehensive. Support for the latest Internet Explorer and Netscape extensions will shortly be released.

Tabling is embedded in the main WebSpider package, permitting the use of HTML's tabling facilities for page layout - an increasingly common use of tables. Cells can be merged and divided, and columns can be dragged to width just like in a full-blown wordprocessing package. All the current cell controls are provided for. Caption support will be included in the soon-to-be-released WebSpider 1.10, with captions being flexibly positioned in the currently available places.

ImageMaps

Just as tables are a recent innovation, so are client-side image maps. WebSpider fully supports this current technology via SpiderMap, it's own imagemap editor created by Fabis Computing exclusively for Dalriada. With SpiderMap, you simply draw shapes over the image just as you would with any drawing application, and then either drag on a link from a page on your website or type in the address of an external address.

As it is often difficult to resolve fine detail in bitmaps, you can magnify your view of the image to assist in the positioning of your graphic, and there are a number of other simple labour-saving features.

Frames

Well, we promised it, and here it is, WebSpider with frames! Not much to say, really, as is frames are pretty much as frames are! Nonetheless, it neatly rounds off WebSpider's feature set.
