Overview

GraphMate is a graphing application which works in quite a different way to existing graph packages on RISC-OS. GraphMate offers an extensive range of presentation controls which no alternative can offer - albeit for a narrower range of graph types for the moment.

GraphMate is a frame-based editor, giving you complete compositional flexibility, with the convenience of templates to recall existing designs at the click of a button. Controls of text, colour etc. are consitent across the whole of the application - which means fewer and simpler menus and dialogues, greater ease of use and time savings.

GraphMate integrates closely with TableMate, to create a seamless environment for creating your graph. TableMate can be used simply to edit the data just as you would in a more traditional system, but it can also automatically generate supporting tables, which can be linked to your graph for future changes.

GraphMate gives you full control over text, shape and line styles, plus unequalled flexibility in the appearance of your keys, headings, labels and supporting text and graphics

This new version adds a number of detail refinements to GraphMate, including row-by-row control of label colours; multiple best-fit lines; reporting of best-fit formula, roots etc; control of decimal places used in labels; ability to switch off datasets on demand; improved shadow effect controls, new plot types for linear graphs, plus a number of minor refinements.

Chart types and features

• Bar & Line charts; 2d & 3d effects and/or axes; freely intermix bars, lines, error bars and hi-lo-close plots; horizontal or vertical, one or two scaled axes as you wish.
• Pie charts; interactive explosion of segments, 2d and 3d, clockwise or anticlockwise ordering, starting angle control
• Cartesian graphs; user-definable mark shapes and sizes, simple point-and-click best line and/or spline fitting, cross and I-beam error bars.
• Stacked charts; Line or bar plots, 2d and 3d axes and/or effects; Vertical or horizontal
• Area & Line charts; 2d & 3d effects and/or axes, freely intermix area and line plots, one or two scaled axes as desired
• All charts; can have scaled backdrops, reference lines, logarithmic or linear axes as appropriate

Presentation Features

• Text; freely positioned word-wrapping text at any point
• Text control; choose text font, size, colour, linespacing etc.
• Graphics; can be placed anywhere - resizable at will
• Key/Legend areas; user definable key shapes, automatic reformatting, plus spacing controls
• Graph plots; choose colour of shapes (eg bars) and/or lines; edge width and colour (for solid shapes) or line width and pattern (for lines)
• Background effects; for all frames, be they graphs, text, or whatever - graduated or plain, with tiled or scaled graphics logo as required

Convenience

• Input; load SID, CSV or TAB files, plus TableMate files - just drag and drop
• Output; save Draw files for 100's of applications, plus tiled printing for really large charts!
• Cut-and-paste editing
