Old problems, hints and tips, and how to get the most out of our products
Right - a simple one. Some systems have a font called 'Selwyn' - a standard Acorn font - for their "Dingbats" font, and others have, well, 'Dingbats'. You've not got the right one available (WebSpider used to look for Dingbats, and now looks for Selwyn). This has now been fixed in WebSpider 1.10c, which looks for both. You still have a problem if you haven't got either font, though, as some bullet points will look "odd", though there is no serious effect!
Check the Export option in the Ruler Menu - it won't be ticked. Ensure that this option is ticked for every ruler which is used in a row you want to export.
Sorry! This is a limitation with TableMate 3 and Classic. TableMate Designer will address this need.
If you have version 3.11 or earlier, send for a free update - remember to enclose your disk and a Stamped SAE.
If you have RISC-OS 3.6, there is a problem up to and including version 3.10a.
If you have RISC-OS 3.1, there is a problem with version 3.10b only.
Simply send your master disk with a Stamped SAE.
NOTE - any returned disks without a complete Stamped SAE will be charged £5.
You almost certainly have an old version - the current one is 1.10i. Simply send in your disk with a Stamped SAE for return.
Is there a symbol you want to rotate in DiagramIt which simply will not budge?
One or two symbols can give problems when rotating - the trapezium is a particular problem. There is a reason for this - and a solution too! As you may well notice, when you choose to rotate the angle a symbol shape is at, DiagramIt rotates the design of the shape by the requested angle inside the current boundaries of the symbol. Sometimes the shape being used wouldn't fit properly in the shape area at the given angle, so it doesn't change.
To solve this quickly, we suggest using one of the following techniques:
If you have GraphMate 1.02 or earlier, and are using it under RISC-OS 3.10 or 3.11, you may well find problems using the OLE linking with TableMate, and/or the direct import of TableMate files. This has been addressed in GraphMate 1.10 to the best of our knowledge. If you have GraphMate 1.10 but are still having difficulties, please let us know as soon as possible.
Common symptoms of the problem are crashes with messages such as Unknown stack handler. This can also effect any other dialogue which imports files (eg. the key shapes dialogue). Each of these is being addressed as quickly as possible. The fault would seem to lie in RISC-OS, but we haven't yet managed to create a complete explanation.
